NetApp Support Matrix
Azroth publishes exactly what we support today rather than presenting an unbounded compatibility list. Our independent third-party maintenance and lifecycle support is focused on the NetApp systems and ONTAP environments where former NetApp Technical and Escalation Support experience can provide a clear operational benefit. Each engagement still begins with configuration, lifecycle, and recovery assessment; published coverage is not a promise of OEM software entitlement or a substitute for environment-specific validation.
Schedule a NetApp Lifecycle Risk Assessment| Platform | ONTAP Version Range | Status | Typical Deployment Era | Detail |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NetApp AFF A300 | ONTAP 9.x, subject to installed hardware/component compatibility | Actively Supported by Azroth | Late 2010s–early 2020s | NetApp AFF A300 → |
| NetApp FAS8200 | ONTAP 9.x, subject to installed hardware/component compatibility | Actively Supported by Azroth | 2016–2020 | NetApp FAS8200 → |
| ONTAP 7-Mode | Legacy 7-Mode releases; assessed per installed hardware and configuration | Actively Supported by Azroth | Pre-clustered ONTAP environments, commonly on older FAS2xxx/FAS3xxx/FAS6xxx systems | ONTAP 7-Mode → |
| ONTAP 9 Cluster-Mode | ONTAP 9.x; compatibility varies by controller, shelf, drive, adapter, and topology | Actively Supported by Azroth | Current clustered ONTAP architecture across multiple AFF/FAS generations | ONTAP 9 Cluster-Mode → |
How to use this matrix
"Actively Supported by Azroth" means the platform or operating model is within our current published support focus. Before work begins, we confirm the installed controller and shelf inventory, software level, component compatibility, hardware condition, support access, workload criticality, and recovery dependencies. This avoids a common lifecycle mistake: assuming a familiar platform is low risk without checking its exact configuration and operational role.
Additional coverage in development
Additional platform coverage is being added as the supporting expertise, diagnostic workflows, parts considerations, and lifecycle guidance are documented:
- AFF A2xx, A7xx, and A8xx families
- FAS2xxx and FAS9xxx families
- E-Series
- StorageGRID
If your system is not yet listed, or if your configuration spans multiple rows, request a Lifecycle Risk Assessment. We will identify whether the immediate need is incident support, a controlled extension, parts preparedness, a software/change-risk review, or a refresh/migration decision.
Important: Azroth does not transfer NetApp software licenses or provide new NetApp firmware, software, patches, or OEM download entitlement. Support is remote-only unless a qualified field-service partner is engaged for onsite work.

Not sure which row your environment fits? Azroth will map your platform, ONTAP release, and recovery posture against a practical support plan.
